Testimonials
For several months (beginning in 2004) we began the search for a cocker spaniel puppy but was not having any success in finding that special puppy that we felt should come and live with us. One day in March, I was looking online and came across Willow Creek Cockers. I e-mailed them to find out about puppies that were available. Tanya Ekker e-mailed me back and told me about some litters that were due any day. I kept watching and on March 20, 2005, Twinkie and Tinker Belle’s litter were born and we found our baby, Smokie. The minute we saw him we knew that he belonged to us. He is such a loving and smart puppy (and, of course, he is spoiled rotten).
After a few months we decided that Smokie needed a pal... someone to play with during the day while we were gone. Again, the search began to no avail. After several months we decided that since we had had such great luck in finding Smokie and working with Tanya at Willow Creek that we would go back. We lucked out... Twinkie and Kenzie had just had a litter and again there was our little Bandit.
I am so grateful to Willow Creek for having such great dogs and puppies. I love my two little guys and I would recommend Willow Creek to anyone looking to purchase a Cocker Spaniel puppy. They are smart and so loving... you will never regret it!!
Update: Bandit and Smokie in our motorcycle's dog trailer:

Well yesterday, March 20 [2008] was Smokie's third birthday. I have attached pictures of him and Bandit with his Hot Dog Birthday Cake.
Hope all is going well. We sure love our boys. We took them to southern Utah last week to ride ATV's. I have attached a picture of that also. They had a great time. As you can see it was a little cold so Bandit still had his sweater on but I had taken Smokie's off.

Tanya,
We just arrived back from our veterinarian who gave us the all clear on the two beautiful baby boys we brought home from your litter with Tinkerbell and Twinkie. The entire staff marveled at how lovely they were with their bright blue eyes!
I want to thank you again for being there for me throughout this entire process! You have answered my dream of owning a beautiful cocker spaniel again! My husband and I are quite thrilled with our two little boys, whom we will be calling Sunshine and Trouble.
Having never purchased anything on the internet -- let alone a purebred dog -- I must say this process was painless for us. You made everything very clear and easy to understand, giving us weekly updated pics was part of the excitement we had! I truly appreciate you answering everyone of my multitude of questions and taking the time to be so prompt in replying back to me in the first place!
Who would have thought that my tireless search for a puppy in my area would have led me all to Utah? We had a pleasant drive up to your place from Phoenix and the only thing we regret is not having had a chance to meet up with you personally, tho having met your husband I can imagine you are a wonderful person as well. (I truly do understand you needing to take care of the newest litter arriving that morning!)
If I come across anyone interested in a Cocker Spaniel either online or in person I will refer them to you at Willow Creek Cockers immediately as you have made this the best experience ever! I know I rambled on a little in this e-mail cause Sunshine and Trouble are now nibbling at my toes wanting me to go play with them... and who could resist that kind of invitation?
Thanks Again!
Katie
My experience with Willow Creek Cockers was pleasant from the beginning. After extensive on-line searching and speaking with several different breeders all over the state of Utah and Nevada, I found Tanya willing to work with me and meet me to see the puppies;
this was not the norm with most of the breeders I spoke with. At my first meeting with Tanya she was meeting another buyer at the same time, this woman had come from California to purchase her 2nd pup from Tanya- I was impressed with this right off the bat. I fell in love with little Oliver as soon as I saw him! He is darling and in good health. Now, at only 14 weeks old, he can sit, shake and is nearly 100% potty trained- he’s a smart one that’s for sure! He comes to work with me every day any everyone in the office loves him and his personality! As a woman living on her own, I’ve found not only a roommate but a new best friend!

I thought you might get a kick out of seeing Bella - she is four months old now and, Tanya, what a kick she is. Personality plus, and more energy than having 10 babies at one time. I think she is going to be a beautiful dog. She has a great natural stance.
William
Hello Tanya, Magno Magic is doing great! He has a wonderful personality and temperament. Thank you very much for making the transition so easy and for bringing him up well socialized and well cared for. The whole experience was wonderful and we appreciate your professionalism. Take care.
Dan
Here is a new picture of Thai. He is getting big. He definitely has a great personality and has been a very good addition to our family. Everyone who sees him thinks he is just cute as ever. It does not help that he loves everyone so his tail shakes and so does the rest of his body. He is going to be a great dog when he gets bigger.
Jodi
Barq is just wonderful! He has the best temperament of any cocker spaniel I have owne. He loves everyone adn everything! He makes me smile cause he is one of a kind. Barq is a part chocolate merle, very open, I have not seen any other cocker with quite those same markings. I just can't say enough about him.
His quality, temperament, and coat is excellent. He is my boy! I am sending you some pictures; as you can see he doesn't smile because when I tell him to stay he cannot figure out why he has to stay ...LOL... I love him so much! Thank you for letting me adopt Barq. I appreciate all that you did for me. You were always there answering questions, sending pictures, and once we owned Barq you still kept in touch by email, just to ask how he was doing. You are a very caring breeder and you have so much love that you put into your cocker spaniels and it really shows. Take care and again, thanks,
Connie
I just wanted you to know how in love I am with our two beautiful cocker's Lover Bear and Pixie Dust. They are just a sweet as can be and very smart. My Children are so in love with them, they are learning responsibility in helping to take care of them.
My experience working with you has been a joy, you have been very helpful in answering all of my questions. Thank you for having all the paper work for the puppies so organized. The puppies were so clear and groomed so cute.
I would recommend you to anyone who is looking for a cocker puppy. Lover Bear and Pixie Dust are doing great, I took them to the Vet the other day and all is well.
Potty training is going well. And as you can tell we are very happy with our two new addition to the family.
Thank you so very much for everything,
The Johnson Family
My search for puppies began in September 2005 when I was looking for
a breeder who would have puppies we could give our children for
Christmas. After an unsuccessful search of the local newspapers for
a reputable breeder, I turned to the internet. There I found a
plethora of breeders across the country. I contacted several and
finally decided on Willow Creek Cockers in Utah because of Tanya's
enthusiasm and responsiveness. I also felt like she truly cared
about finding good homes for her puppies and not about just making a
few bucks. After many, many e-mails to Tanya I put pick of the
litter deposits on two puppies from Tinker Belle & Twinkie's litter
expected in October.
Tanya shipped them down to the Phoenix airport
a couple weeks before Christmas and what a surprise it was for the
kids! They, as expected, are totally in love with Rex and Liberty!
My husband, ever the cat lover, has also become quite fond of the
pups. Liberty is going to be as beautiful as her momma! After
almost a month with us, the puppies are quite at home and almost
potty and kennel trained (it's a bit slow going for me with 2 kids, 3
kittens and 2 puppies - but there's definite progress)! We couldn't
love these puppies more! They are growing quickly and so full of
energy (even tiring out my kids at times). Tanya is a wonderful
breeder - readily answering any number of questions I posed, eager to
work out "solutions" to situations, comfortable providing suggestions/
recommendations, etc.! I will turn to Tanya, should we ever need
another dog and will recommend her to anyone looking for a beautiful,
loving pet for their family!

Here are a few pictures of Mollie. She is getting big!
She was worth the wait and we are so happy to have her.
As you can see she is gorgeous. She has a sweet personality,
is super smart, and a very energetic dog. She loves to give
kisses and to retrieve her toys and has learned to sit and stay
already - not bad for a 6 month old puppy. She has taken to our
older daughter so much that if we say Tory's name she will look
for her. When we take Mollie out people always ask about her
coloring and we tell them about you and your beautiful dogs.
Thanks for Mollie and all your help finding the perfect dog for us!
Cathy
I have had our new little puppy for only 5 days and already I just love
him and don't know what I would do without him. Our neighbor's dog is
named Sammie, so we decided to name our little dog "Webster." He
already seems to know when we call his name. Everyone who sees him
thinks he is about the cutest puppy they have ever seen. You were
right ... he has such a cute personality and wants to explore
everything! He acts so excited when I come home, and that makes me feel
so good. He follows me everywhere. He is beginning to get used to his
set up at our home. I think he loves it here. He is so cute when he
gets sleepy.
He gets halfway into one of my slippers and cuddles up and falls
asleep. It will take a little time I think to get him potty trained,
but I think he is doing pretty good. Thank you so much for telling us
about this cute little puppy. He seems to be the perfect one to join
our family. We are having so much fun with him. It was so nice to meet
you. Thanks for bringing him to Lehi where we could pick him up. I
will keep you posted from time to time on how he is doing.
A very happy puppy owner... Don
Tanya & Family,
My husband James surprised me tonight with one of your puppies. I had been on the phone with Tanya trying to get information about him and working out a deal that would work for all of us.
When my husband got home with our little boy -- I was shocked! I just stared at him and then when I held the puppy, I started to cry. I was so excited and surprised I couldn't speak .
He is more beautiful -- excuse me, handsome -- than his picture. I am so thankful for the sacrifices that your family made to help us adopt this sweet little guy today. I feel blessed that we found your place. I promise to give him a loving and safe home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Andrea & Family
I wanted to show you some pictures of Mac. He was born last Nov 19th from
Kisses. He has such a personality, I can look at him and know what he is
thinking. He is so playful and loves to eat the tomatoes in the garden.
When anyone sees him, they always comment on his thick curly coat and color.
He also has the cutest "mug!" We love this dog and couldn't be happier!
Burke and Angie
We decided to name [our new cockapoo] Butters because we kept calling him
butterball so it just came to us. He is so funny and loves the kids. He's
going up and down the stairs and already jumping up on the couch. We have
him doing sit and stay and we're working on shake but he sits when we say
shake... it's funny. Thanks again for everything you have done!! Butters is now
a big part of our family and can't see things without him.
Thanks, Sarah & Family
 The whole gang together |
I have been wanting to write this letter to you for some time... LOL who wouldn't rather get puppy kisses than sit down and type out an email?
 Mocha trying to pose |
I wanted to let you know that we returned back from the Vet and that our lil MochaSmooches is all better now. She probably just caught cold with the climate changes etc. She never slowed down or acted sick in anyway so it was a good thing you require us to have the new pups checked out when they arrive or we would have never known she even needed anything unless her cold had gotten nasty suddenly.
Mocha playing tug of war with our female (Muppet) |
Thank you for taking our call of concern and making me feel so much better about the situation. While we certainly can hope everything always goes smoothly its really reassuring once a bump in the road does happen that we are dealing with someone so knowledgeable and easy to talk to.
Mocha trying to get Sunshine to play with her too! |
Mocha is absolutely the most beautiful dog we have ever seen. I am so glad we found you over a year ago and bought our Sunshine and Trouble from you and that I kept in touch with you and found Mocha just days after she was born. I wish we still lived closer and could have come to pick her up but you also made the "flying her in" process so easy. The entire thing went off without a hitch!
 Trouble needing a haircut |
I have sent several people in your direction recently as everyone who sees Mocha wants to own her or a dog just like her! Her markings are fabulous and her eyes -- WOW -- so clear, so blue, and so loving! She is absolutely the most special dog ever. She is sweet and loving and yet brave and bold all at once. She is cherished by not just her parents but by her doggie "siblings" as well.
Sunshine needing a haircut too |
Sunshine and Trouble have turned into the best dogs ever. Not only are they so loving and good company but they get compliments on how great they look wherever we go as well. Our new vet and his staff here were telling us it was such a treat to see such Quality Cocker Spaniels in these parts. I guess Kansas does not get many "show" dogs, etc. They turned a year old just a few days ago and we have never had any problems with them at all.
I also got the AKC papers in the mail last week. Thanks for sending them on!
Katie
I thought I would drop you a note to and let you know how our Cocker
Spaniel Ella, is doing. We bought her from you last June and I can't
believe that she is almost 9 months now! She is a great dog and she has
loads of personality. She is very petite, but holds her own with our
Spanish Water dog Ana. Everyday they have wrestling matches and tease
each other with toys. Ella has a good life! She comes to work with me
everyday and we have taken her on two trips to Florida, so far. On out
last trip to Florida, we drove straight through for 25 hours and she was
a great car rider. However she is a bit of a seat hog!! I have attached
a few pictures of her so you can see how she has grown up.
Thank you!
Kathy
Dexter arrived at the airport on Sunday fine. He was messy, however the Continental attendant cleaned him up the best she could. It really didn't matter how messed up he was…you fell in love instantly. He had fun when he got home with all his new toys and bed. He slept the first night from 11 to 6. He whined about 2 minutes before he fell into a deep sleep. Monday and Tuesday was play and rest all day. He did eat 3 times each day. He got his first bath Tuesday night in the sink. He still had some odor from the trip. He didn't particularly like the bath, but he smells fresher for it! He is going to my vet Thursday. Dr. Dave was my Biscuit's vet and I am going to continue with him as Dexter's.
He is doing really well and is a fast learner. I am hoping to break him of the crate and keep it only for his own safety. I just moved into a new home which I built and I have no grass yet. He is a little hesitant to pee on the gravel, however when he has to go he lets loose. He has had a couple of accidents, but that is to be expected for now.
My house is now full again as I have someone to come home to. The silence of a house is devastating. Dexter has made my house a "home."

Hi Tanya,
I just wanted to give you an update on Cody, who we renamed Max. Honestly, he is the best dog ever. We adore him. I've had dogs my whole life, and I'm so thrilled with him. He is smart, happy, and full of fun. If we didn't have 2 other dogs, I'd get another cocker from you today. Thank you for bringing him into our family.

I hope you get this cute picture of Harley. Thank you so much for helping our kids out with Harley. She's a wonderful dog and we were so surprised and touched to get such an adorable gift from the kids for Christmas. We've loved Cocker Spaniels for many years having raised two beautiful dogs to old age. It's been such a joy to have Harley around with her energy and vibrance, she has brightened our lives.
It was so kind of you to donate a pup to the Utah Museum of Natural History. We really appreciate it. I'll send you pics of Harley if you'd like. She's so cute and sweet.
Thanks again,
Kim
When I began to look for a little girl cocker spaniel pup I spent quite
a bit of time perusing the internet. Already I knew that locally there
were only show breeders and truly back-yard breeders here. I was
concerned that the non-professional, backyard type breeders were not
knowledgeable, had few dogs, usually just the male and female, and I
was unsure about the quality of their breeding and handling. I also
knew I did not want to deal with show-dog quality pups and contracts
and the like from a show-dog breeder.
Willow Creek Cockers turned up a couple of times in my search and each
time I went to Tanya's website somehow I felt like she and her family
were exactly what I was looking for in a breeder. I was comfortable
there, it was a good feeling on their farm. When I saw the puppy
pictures from Lexy and Talon's litter there was only 1 female still
available and I knew the moment I saw her picture that she was my girl,
waiting for me.
I named her Willow in honor of Willow Creek Cockers and because the
Willow has always been my favorite tree. Now I can see her incredible
willow green eyes. She is strong, intelligent, beautiful. Her potential
is amazing and she learns so quickly. Having had the opportunity to
meet Tanya when I picked up Willow I knew that I had been correct in
giving her my confidence. When I am ready in the future for another
little cocker I will go directly to Tanya and look no further. Thanks
to the Ekker family for my perfect little girl.

Update 5/4/08: We went to our very first agility trial yesterday. Willow actually got a qualifying score on one of her runs and earned the purple ribbon. I'm so proud. Here is a picture of her showing off her ribbons.

He is such a fun family member to have around. thanks for bringing him to be apart of our life, it wouldnt be the same without him.
